Default My new Z gas pedal stiff?

Hi guys I have been driving my 2002 z28 for a couple weeks now and it runs like a raped ape I sold my 98 mustang gt for it. I think I might have a small exhaust leak though but I have a question. My gas pedeal feels kind of stiff at the top like it takes a little pressure to push down from its initial point. Is this normal? Or is there a way to adjust the pedal to make it smoother? Thanks

I would go and test the throttle body first to make sure the problem is at the pedal and not the throttle body.

Throttle body could be sticking. Go to the throttle body and manually flip it. Does it feel smooth or sticky? If it feels smooth then it is probably just the way the car is. I know when I put my ported throttle body on, I noticed it had a different spring on it and the pedal is a good bit stiffer throughout.

i think i know what your refering to, like u can push it to the floor but then if you realize u can, u can push harder and it feels like it goes some more and then it takes off like full throttle, am i correct?

This'll probably sound ridiculous, but i noticed that too when i first got my Z28. Then i noticed that the side of my shoe was kinda dragging on the carpet in the foot well. The pedal is a little close to the center hump.

I checked the throttle cable next to the tb and it seemed to be a little stiff as well. I guess the ported tb just adds little stiffness to the gas pedal? It is more when the pedal is not pressed at all and to get it moving there is some tension. This is where I feel it the most. Its ok just kind of annoying sometimes. Thanks guys.

It could be your floor mat riding up making your gas pedal harder to push down. My mat slides all the time and I have to adjust it.

i bet the real problem here is that you went from a 98' GT stang' to a ls1, that pedal is gonna feel stiff as a 6th grade boy at the nude beach

Ouch well that lil 98 would move down low. I would pull my friends auto 98 z off the line but it ran out of power up top. My new z is the opposite is kinda weird. I think ill just have to deal with the heavy pedal but guess it will help my gas milage

Spray the spring with WD-40. Mine was sticking occasionally and WD-40 worked for me. worth a try, won't hurt nothing.
