Default new owner still cant solve ping noise issue

ok i had a noise goin on im my car which i belive to be detonation i had it scaned with hp tuners and in fact i had some KR. so i cleaned the maf and it went almost completely away.

so figureing the car is new to me ive owned for about 2 months, lemme give it a tune up sense i dunno when it had one last. i did seafoam treatment,NGK tr55's gapped .055,msd wires, fuel filter, pcv valve, and RP 10w30 for oil change, but after my tune up this noise that disapeared came back full force. my previous plugs were denso iridiums, and they all had a light brown colored seemed just right.

so i cant figure out what the hell is goin on. i get ping/clanging noise down low below 1500rpms when i tap the gas and detonation ping noise above 4500 WOT. im am gettin down to my last nerve with this **** please someone gimme an idea what else could i check to get rid of detnation why could it be happening.

Heres a previous thread from before on this problem:

if they look ok why not use them again? aslso check the gap....might tell you what is going on.the only thing you changed that could effect cylinder flame propagation is the plugs...either the gap was wider or the heat range was different....something is way different in those plugs.DON"T reset the gap...what ever gap those plugs were at must have been good.a tighter gap is BS...wider ALWAYS works better!

well the denso iridiums that were in there also had a .055 gap the same as the NGK tr55's i just put in, the only thing is.. the denso plugs i did have the same problem with before but it decided to go away after cleaning the maf, thats why im so confused. perhaps i will try puttin the plugs back in to try and narrow down exactly what the problem is

Yes, my ping was only at WOT around 5000+ RPMs. And like yours it would varry from time to time, sometimes not do it at all, and sometimes do it really loud (thats when it was hot out).
I suggest doing the homedepot catchcan, its cheap and then you will know if thats whats causing the ping. I have caught a good deal of oil so far...

I get pingin below 2k rpms if I lightly blip the throttle and I have a AMW catch can. I still get oil vapor into the intake. I recently have done the Steve Hovis mod. This is the last thing I can do to stop vapor mist. I have been dealing with this for 2 yrs now and nothing works.

Whats the "Steve Hovis mod"?
Replacing the stock oil cap with a breather might help. Or maybe getting a breather on the catch can like this:

It's your belt tensioner. I have the same problem and after stressing about it for a couple weeks, it was appearant it was the tensioner. You can listen to it at idle and it even sounds like the pinging noise.
