learn to live with the power, when i first got mine i was getting 180 to the tank, but just have self control (i know its hard) and only get on it every now and then.
now i average to around 250 a tank

Now THAT is a hybrid/power combination I wish I had! I'm sure he meant 180-250 miles on a tank. I see 300 miles on a tank with mixed driving using Exxon. Make sure your tires are properly aired up, check your spark plugs, air filter, use quality fuel (Exxon, Chevron, etc.). It costs a little more than the little shops but definately worth it. Lets see, oh yeah, don't drive it hard everywhere. Yeah its fun, don't get me wrong, punching it through the gears is great, but like it was stated before, show some restraint. That's pretty much all I can think of, I'm sure there is more.

If I want mileage, I drive 1st->4th->5th or 6th (depending on road/highway).

I accerate faster in 5th gear than my sister's Accord when on highway.

On average, I can pull a 18-20 mpg city, hitting 22-24mpg combined, and almost 29 mpg if pure highway. That would allow around 400 miles/tank... Contrast my 88 camaro which would be lucky to pull 250 miles/tank...

if he doesn't have skip shift elimenator, his car should do that automatically if he isn't getting on the throttle.

If you lighten the car up it will get better gas mileage.
