The lower air box is bigger, the lid is the same. All WS6 cars had power steering coolers.

Not unless you are taking a lot of turns or using your car for autocrossing.

Nothing, its just an option code for the package, kind of like LS1 doesnt stand for anything, just the code for the motor.

somebody might have a better answer but i think that its just GM's code for that specific trans am package; like LT1,LS1,Z28,SS,LT4, like im sure that they have a code for a v6 firebird, and another one for the firebird formula, and then the trans am, then WS6 would be like the deluxe trans am were it comes with more features like a ram air box, wheels, suspension, etc, then the firehawk. i hope this helps, and i hope im right im not exactly sure but it seems to be a ? mark for everyone.

ram air hood, raised airbox,17"wheels with 275 tires, better springs and shocks,ps cooler, better exhaust, and a little badge to make u feel oh so special. i went with a base trans am with all the options cheaper for insurance and just as fast plus mostof the stuff ur gonna change anyway.

Basically get a WS-6 if you are planning on leaving your car 'as-is'

If you want to mod it, then you will want to replace the suspension bits, exhaust, etc anyway...so you'll be tossing that money out.

The only exception to this is...the hood. Getting an aftermarket hood to fit nice, get nice paint, etc will cost you probably $1200 total (I know).

So factor that in...

SS stands for Super Sport, and if I remember reading it somewhere correctly Z28 was a tire option or something on some 60's car that was for "tire burning performance". Sounds wierd, been a while since I read it so maybe my mind has just gone, but back on topic the other alphanumeric combinations are just simply GM codes including WS6.
