Default Keep my Grand National? or get F-Body???

i own a 1987 buick grand national. i have completely restored it. it has about 500-550 horsepower. I really love my car but the thing is, ive always wanted an LS1 trans am with six speed. i would do heads, cam, intake, 12 bolt, and all the bolt ons. So pretty much it owuld have the same power my GN has. But the trans am would be more fun because of the six speed and the facy that the car handles considerably better then my gn does. What do you guys think I should do? Keep my gn? or buy an F-Body? the reason i want an f body so bad is becasue i have already had 2 third gen trans ams and i loved them, and i know that the ls1 ta would be 10 times cooler.

Thanks, Jesse

i'd say go for it, if you can get what you would want for your GN. and when you part with it you wouldnt feel bad about it, then get a F-body...sounds like you really want one!

I'd keep the GN since you know it and you've got history. I've made my Firehawk violent and love it completely, but a hot rod GN wouldn't be bad to have.

Keep the GN bro. I would rather have a clean Grand natty than a clean LS1 f-body by far.

Keep the GN. In a few years it will still be a badass car that people will still pay top dollar for. The LS1 T/A is not one of those cars, even thought it is equally badass. Just Keep the GN, sell one of your 3rd gens, and save money until you can buy a LS1.

Get what you truely want. Some people love classic cars but I'm impartial because I just like speed and power. If you want to go fast in the end you can keep the GN or you can get the T/A and mod it. It all comes down to what YOU want.

Man, you should DEFINATELY keep the GN. I had a badass one myself and regret selling it all the time. F-Bods are nice, but count how many times you see them on the streets or strips versus GNs. If you have a nice GN with some serious power you will turn WAY more heads and get WAAAAAAY more attention at cruise spots than with a similarly powered F-Body. At least that's the way I've always seen it play out. There are very few "car guys" that haven't at one point or another wished like hell they had a Turbo Regal. Trust me, keep that beast!

Keep that GN. There aren't a whole lot of them left in the condition it sounds like yours is in.

Keep the GN. I bought my TA about a year ago, it's a cool car but the novelty wears off fast.

The GN is a classic

I'm in the same spot. I could sell my '69 Camaro which I completely restored in 15 months, make a pretty decent profit and buy a T/A or SS and make it a street/strip type car and build a big motor for my strip only Chevelle.

BUT, your GN and my Camaro aren't cars you see every day (on the road at least). Our cars also will only appreciate in value while the LS1 cars still haven't bottomed out yet. With that said I guess we take them for granted since we already have them and don't have LS1 cars, my vote is keep the GN.

I'm hoping that I'll just wait and stick it out through college then get one, maybe you could just hold onto it until you got the money together to buy a cheaper LS1 car.
