Um, Not in my car, Im afraid to. But my friend let me rip through the gears in his car, he has a built 12 bolt, and upgraded valve train so no problems there...

i did in my rodeo and my nissan truck all the time, but the camaro is auto so no. and its not at 6000rpm, its whatever rpm equals the vehicle speed times the gear. you will figure out what i mean after a few times messing up

thats funny...2-3 is easy for me..3-4 is easier too. 1-2 is what gets me cause the car acclerates so ******* hard in first gear....if it hooks.

1-2 shift is the most awkward, if you hooked up well, your arm is fighting being thrown back if not the car's sliding side to side as you fight to keep straight with your left arm, 2-3 is the smoothest shift I got, 3-4 should be simple but I've hit the gate a few times on the six side. It's just enough to distract from the fun... I need a better shifter.

1-2 is the easiest. Since the shifter can't go any farther left, just pull back and kind of toward you on an angle and it will slide right in.

I didn't plan on doing it for my every day shifts, one of my friends just told me about it and I tryed it going up an on ramp I think I shifted at about 5k to be safe, but you can really get away with shifting at 6k on a stock valve train?

You must have long legs...

I have to skoot my seat up a bit, and if I don't have my arm at the exact angle I elbow myself in the chest lol.

^that doesnt make sense....why would you elbow yourself in the chest shifting??

you dont have to angle your arm all crazy, just use your wrist.

If I have my arm angled at the shifter VS straight with the console, and I yank back hard enough, or my hand slips off the ball, I can see where it would elbow me in the chest...

A misexecuted powershift can lead to lotsa problems. Year before last's season I hit the 2-3 and the trans locked up in neutral. It required a rebuild and was by far not worth powershifting. I only sometimes PS the 3-4 as it's a no brainer and impossible to miss unless you are not using the proper grip technique on the shifter.

The only time your arm should be angled at all is the 2/3 shift.

I'd trust the stock valvetrain to about 6500 rpm. Several of the SI auto guys shift at 6500+. I've shifted my stock GTO at 6200 without issue.

Here's something to remember about shifting:
1-2 - hand in a position where the thumb is up, palm facing you. Pull straight back.
2-3 - palm the shifter, thumb to the left side. Push up and to the right.
3-4 - hand in a position where the thumb is pointing down, and your palm faces away from you this will ensure that at a worst case scenario you miss 4th and hit 6th.

Spuds...you're still an idiot. There is no way to elbow yourself in the chest when shifting if you do it right.

Default spuds is still an idiot haha

i powershift my car, not alot but i have, when i do go from 1 - 2 i pull down and to the left, when going from 2-3 i LIGHTLY push up, while doing it fast, it automatically returns to the center neutral position, so i let the car get in the grooves by itself it's never did me wrong. hope that makes sense, and if you cant powershift from 3-4, then dont even try doing it. period.

You are an idiot. Can you show me a picture of how someone's elbow can touch their chest in any position. I can see hitting your hip maybe but, for me, it's impossible for my elbow to even come close to hitting me in the chest.

I would never try power shifting with the stock shifter. Maybe not even the stock 3-4 shift fork.
