Default I've been excluding 98s from my search due to the computer

Is it really that much of a difference though? I have wanted to stay away from the 98s since there seem to be a lot more options for the 99+ as far as tuning goes, but it seems like I'm passing up a lot of otherwise nice cars for a good price. Should I just include 98s in my search or am I really better off with 99 and newer? Thanks.

I wouldn't pass up the 98's. Unless there is a specific program or hand held you want to purchase that you cannot get for a 98's computer it shouldn't be a problem. The sponsors/shops have no problem tuning 98's.

Most performance shops can tune a 98....you just have a problem finding hand held programmers to work for them.

Its not a big deal.

The only f-body in my opinion really worth going for if you had an option would be an 01-02. 98-00 are mixed with different plusses and minuses.

The 01 and 02 cars are the best. Especially for the ls6 intake.

BUT....you can find a 98 for real cheap and have plenty of money left for mods....like I did.

Just find a nice car that you like with an ls1, make sure it checks out mechanically, and try not to get a high mileage one....that is the main thing.

good luck
