Default ttops vs hard tops

simple question, i notice most of these cars are ttop, are the hardtops more rare or sought after? make any difference in value... looking at a couple of ss's one is a hardtop though. significant price difference

thanks

I don't think they're rare enough for a significant price difference, but the hardtop SS cars are definitely few and far between. My $.03

They may be rare, but you'll enjoy a t-top car in the spring/summer months. I do atleast

On the "used car" market, t-tops add value. To the enthusiast market, a hardtop can be more valuable, depending on the buyer. T-tops are standard on TAs, so that skews the rarity numbers. As to asking prices, those vary all over the map, for reasons sensible and not....like the guy asking $125k for a 30th TA.

Meh, I have a hardtop SS and it's really nothing to glory over. Sure, it may be rare in a sense, but I think T-tops would make up for the rarity by its fun factor. I just happened to come across a killer deal on my hardtop SS and there was no way in Hell I would pass it up

I have hardtops. I like the fact that it is more rare but it would definitely be better in the summer with t-tops

got 2 cars in mind 02 m6 t tops 8k same color, wants 24k. found a 01 m6 25k hardtop, wants 17500 for it.

do i like the 02 more yes, but i dont like the price more... if he were down a couple thousand id buy it in a heartbeat. My banks getting pissed becuse i keep inquiring about different cars every day

they both have about the same mods, ive seen the 02 in person its showroom clean inside, outside, and underneath. but i think the price is alittle high for it.

That is definitely *all* the money plus a little for the 02. I doubt he can get that unless you give it to him. But, clean is clean and there are only so many low mile cars left in any given area. Depends on how much that is worth to you. The 01 is fairly priced, depending, but hardtops can be hard to sell. I wouldn't get one unless that's specifically what you want. Just imo.

ttops are so much nicer to have and beable to enjoy weater you want just the light coming in or take em off and enjoy the air . theses cars were designed as a t-top car too. if you were to take the hardtop off theres still the T bar there plus that 02 is way over priced

Just a heads up...I bought my hardtop M6 SS with ~12K on the clock for $15,000...

And badpewter-z is correct. The ceiling on my hard-top looks like someone set carpet right onto a t-top. Has the "cut-out" for it, yet it is just a solid piece.

I would trade my car for a hard top in a heartbeat...

Hard top vs T top vs Convertable is the same thing as a4 vs m6... Its a total preferance thing... You like what you like. I personaly love hard tops.. The color matched roofs on the Ta's and ws6's is sweet, and on a black z28, the hard top blends in, and its just another peice to have sweet, perfect paint... No hassles with leaks either...

YAY FOR 1000th POST!

the price isnt more because of the the hard top or t-tops, its because of the f-ing miles!! 8k? vs 25k? thats what your paying for.

oh and I paid 13k for my t-toped T/A, with 26k miles. I also went to St. Louis for that price, over here in florida I can get 16-18k for my car all day long.

That guy is in the loony bin for asking 24k for a car thats 4 years old. For reference my friend bought an 02 SS 3k on it, fully loaded with every option minus the SLP grill and auburn rear for 20k a year and a half ago. Thats still kinda high, but you get the point. If you can get the guy to a price your comfortable with and wont regret later than do it, personally I'd try to get him under 20k, even if that is only 19,999. If he wont budge you can still bargin w/the guy on the 01 and probably pay 16 something.

do yourself a favor and search around, great deals on these cars can be had around every corner...and dont forget that there is almost no diff in the 98-02 cars sure the intake in 01 and diff injectors over the years etc....but nothing major...you can find low mialage cars for cheap...even mid mialage cars hell the ls1 is a vary vary reliable motor....i just picked up a 98 WS6 black/black all options M6 etc... 90xxx miles for $9251 on ebay if i waited i could of found even better deal but its exactly what i was looking for and at the price eh who cares it was still under 10 grand for a hell of a car... just search autotrader and cars dot com and ebay and here!! you will find somethin oh n T-tops are awesome....its like having a vert but keeping the hatch and no uglyness } : >

he seems pretty firm on the price, which sucks cause thats the one i really want... dont want to take a loan out for what i want to offer then him not accept it though, although flashing cash in someones face is always better.
