When I cleaned my Trans Am today I always do door jams trunk and hood cleaning as well.

Now what exactly is this and what position is it suppose to be in? I by accident bumped it a few times with the chamois until I decided to look under and see what exactly it was.

It's underneath both the driver and passenger side doors.

Kinda looks like a door bumper... My guess would be it's function is to help keep the latch on the door lined up right with the stricker... I don't think you can move it one way or another.

it can move back and forth.

I checked my out & they have a little play in them, but i can't turn them in any directions... I wouldn't worry to much about it.
