Default 2002 ws6 16900 miles new owner

Hello everyone I just purchased a 02 silver a4 loaded ta with only 16000 miles I'm very happy with the car except the drivers side power window motor is out and I'm wondering to buy an oe motor for $110.00 or a local parts store 1A auto motor for $59.22 has anybody purchased aftermarket before. I also have to cut the front rotors because when you press the brake the brakepeddle bounces, the car sat for awhile in my buddys garage. My brother owned a 00 ws6 and totaled it and I remember he cut out something from ramair hood to let it breathe more and put an a whisper lid does anybody have the tech on how to do this mod, theres some rivets and a box in the hood. He gave me the whipser lid years ago knowing I would find the perfect low mileage un abused ws6 thanks for your help.

Congrats on the purchase
Haven't had to do the window motor (yet), but if you need new front rotors go to autozone and get the duralst rotors, and (if you want) some hawk pads, the rotors are less prone to warping than the stock ones are (not to bad a price either IIRC $25/rotor)
The ram air debaffling is pretty simple, drill out the rivets, and pop the rear baffle off, then go and pop the front ones off (search for t/a hood debaffle, it'll bring up posts with more details)then add some foam around the airbox to seal it up better
BTW how about some pics of the new T/A

Congrats on the purchase.

I got my power window motor from Kragen's and it was $50.00 plus tax with a $5 core charge. It's a remanufactured motor, so it's OEM just rebuilt. It came with a Lifetime Warranty so I'm happy. As long as it has a Lifetime Warranty I'd buy it.

Thanks guys I think I'm going to autozone lifetime warr. for the power window motor. As far as the front disks I think I'm going to have them resurfaced. The car has only 16k and it shouldn't need pads I think, thanks for the info on the hood.. i'll try to post pictures this weekend.

ya...with that low mileage there is no way you need new rotors unless something cruel and unusual happened to them....congrats man..

My mom's Monte needed new ones at 13K and the dealer said he couldn't do it under warranty becuase the rotors were "wear and tear" and only getting 13K was usual. After enough bickering they did it under warranty, but still...ridiculous.

Way to go on the WS6 man! IMO GM parts aren't worth extra money, since they keep breaking.

Power window motors on these cars are garbage. Changed my passenger side motor and a month later like crap. Lifetime warranty, which means everytime it breaks you get it replaced free, so if it breaks 23 times in one year is the warranty worth it? Think Kia. My driver side is like that too but I assist the motor when putting them up.

The rotors are crap too I replaced mine at 15k, felt that they were warped at 10k though. There was an article in a GM muscle mag that the stock rotors are **** anyway so just replace them with anything other than GM ones.

Yesterday I decided to remove the front rotors to have them cut I noticed the pads are really worn down maybe they will last all summer. I also decided to paint the calipers silver but I can't find the duplicolor set. So I installed the front disks and I'm going to install the pads when I paint the calipers no big deal.. Drove the car and it brakes perfect. I also noticed that the wheels were never removed, because the tire lock was sealed in the original package.
