Default How much can I knock off this Trans Am price?

Silver Trans Am, M6, 57,500 miles...listed at $12,950 by a private seller. I'll be bringing cash, do you think I can bank this to $11,500?

If I was asking $12,950, the lowest I would go would be $12,450 whether you got cash or not. I always ask about $500 more then what I am willing to let it go for.

I would also say it depends on how long he has been trying to sell the vehicle also. If he just listed it I would say maybe 12,500. But if he has had it listed for awhile then maybe he will let it go for 11,500. Goodluck

Same here. when i found my formula it had 85,000 miles and he was asking 7,500 for it but he only took 500 off not $1 less but i didnt care because i got a good deal. I think that you can bring the price to 12,000.

... sell you mine for $25,000 ... LOL! That way, you pay for what I've spent on it the past 6 months and the car is free ...

Hard to say what anyone would take off the $12,950 pricetag. A lot of variables. Is this totally stock and what year?

Just gotta pick it up from the bank, will be paying with a wad of $100s.

I believe it is stock, but have had a lot of trouble getting in touch with the owner.

But there is the exact same build of the car (year, color, miles, 6-speed) at a dealership for $14,995 in Wisconsin that is a little closer, but that is even harder to guess how much they can take off.

its all about the seller. I have mine listed at 22,500, and i will take as little as 18 if its cash. my asking price is based on the amount i have in the car, but at the same time, i am realistic.

If it's a dealer take $11,000 in cash and you have pretty good chances. Also take a kbb.com print-out because the blue-book value is closer to $9,000, it's not very accurate but it'll help your case seeing as how this one is almsot 50% more.

WHen I sold cars, i found that people often have inflated views of what their stuff is worth. If it was a dealer asking 12,900 I would offer NO MORE than 11,000 for it, preferably 10-10,500. Since It is a private seller, I would offer him 11,500 and go up to 12K But i would judge the situation before I did it. I bought my 95 Trans Am for 4500 when the guy was asking 6500 and had JUST payed for a add in the paper to that tune. THe car was IMMACULATE and fully loaded. The engine had set a day or two and when we cranked it we heard NO rattle and there was NO smoke. It had 170K on it but looked brand new and had a new PPG paint job (price 3K, i know the shop that did it and know 3K is NOT an exageration, insurance covered it b/c a car ran into his door in a parkinglot and he forced them to do the whole car). Anywho, MONEY TALKS!

Some people sell to upgrade and want to take your head off (I almsot sold afformentioned TA for 8500 guy had 4K in hand and never showed up with the rest...said he called his friend at the dealership and he told him i was too high).

Others just want to move the car and will take anything but a loss on it. Some may even take a loss if they are forced to sell b/c insurance, legalities (friend bought a car b/c owner was forced by judge to sell it b/c flagrant speeding in the same small town, lol).
