Default Need thoughts about how to spend $2K

I have the following problems:
-Exhaust leak between the block and exhaust manifold (gasket)
-Clutch slipping
-Something inside the muffler is rattling around at idle.

What I want:
-Long tube headers (stainless or coated possibly?)
- Clutch (what is a good replacement?- I don't race [okay sometimes on the street] and maybe add a supercharger later)
-Hi Flow cats
-Catback system. something that sounds good. Not too loud or droning.

Car: 2000 Trans Am, lowered w/DMS springs/Bilstein HD's, whisper lid.

I have about $2-$2.3K to spend, and plan on having it all installed, as I simply do not have the time. Is this a realistic amount to spend? What brands does everyone recommend?

Headers if you want stainless look at the kook's I love mine. Cat back hooker or magnaflow. Y pipe, can you go with a off road one or do you need emissions? Clutch My ram has been good, but I dont have verry many miles on it yet so I havent started beating on it yet. Have Gm header gaskets put back in during the install.

Do I need to buy a new y-pipe? I thought there was little difference between the stocker and aftermarket. Emissions, I will be removing the AIR system because i'm having problems with it, but plan on leaving the rest. I think the reason I have an exhaust leak is the stock gasket has failed in a spot on the passenger side, as I can hear popping under the hood after i rev it some using the throttle body cable. But you are saying use GM gaskets, not the ones you get with the headers, right? How are Kooks with clearance, since I am lowered?

If you get LT headers yes you will need a new y-pipe (usually you get it from the same manufacturer as the headers).

I vote for the Charity mod. It costs EXACTLY 2,000. PM me for my address and mailing info.

It only "pings" in the muffler at idle, when it resonates at a certain frequency. At first, I thought it was a heat shield that was loose. BTW, is it possible to get everything on my list installed for 2K?

If you do the installation yourself, you can get everything on your list for the $2k budget, if you have to have it installed, it'll limit you in what you get.
The exhaust is pretty straightforward, the clutch is a little trickier, tho not outside the DIYers realm, up to you, if you have the place, the tools, and the skill level, I'd just do it myself . If not, then sounds like the clutch should be the 1st priority, then the exhaust leak/muffler rattle

Just plopped down the $$ to get it done. I'm getting:

SPEC Stage 3 clutch $420
Billet Flywheel $250
Jet-Hot ceramic coated longtube headers $750
Y-Pipe $289
Hooker Cat-back system $450
tuning

All installed for $2500 + Tax. Does this sound like good equipment?

and to help us better define whether or not its a good deal by posting a price next to each one and how much to install em

They are Jet-Hot headers: http://www.jet-hot.com/Pages/newheaders.html
It was explained to me that Jet-Hot buys the headers from different manufacturers, coats them, then re-sells them as Jet-Hot headers. The Jet-Hot headers for our cars are actually Hooker headers with the ceramic jet-hot coating applied. I just went and got the flywheel because this morning by clutch finally bit the dust. As I was pulling into a parking lot realizing my clutch was toast, I was doing 4Krpm's in 1st gear, trying to get somewhere I could park. When I got out to call someone to come pick me up, I could smel burning clutch for a while. So, I'm sure my stock flywheel is trashed. I decided to just buy a new one instead of paying to get the stock one resurfaced. I added prices to the parts above.

If that makes you happy, then it's a good deal
FWIW I would have gotten
Pacesetter armor coated headers, and TSP catted Y $700
LS7 clutch kit with LS2 flywheel~$500
and the Hooker catback $450
But it's your money, spend it on what you want

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of those split tips, but I told the guy to install them with clamps so later I can replace them with some slash tips.
