Default Florida F-Body Prices?! WTF!

Can anybody tell me why f-bodies are so expensive in Florida???? I live in celtral florida and my $10-11k search for a t/a is going nowhere. The only cars in that price range seem to have 90k miles plus. All i am looking for is a ~50k mile 6spd ls1. This sux!!!!

Try being in Cali. I'm in the market for another F-Body and they all try and bend you over out here.

Seems like the last few months they have been going up again. I know here in the DFW area about a yaer and a half ago they were around 8K for a 70,XXX LS1 Z...T/A's were a bit higher...but...this year is a whole other story.

Same cars and mileage are going for 10 and up.

Just goes to show....good taste needs to be taught to people...lol

I know what you mean. It seems like the only T/As I've found under 10K were about 130K miles. They weren't in that good condition either... There was this nice red one I saw that had about 70K miles on it for $12K, though. It was in nice shape, and was a 2001. They come and go, but you have to be fast... lol.

There are deals out there, but you just have to be on top of your game. When I was looking for a car, I was pretty much obsessed on that mission. Just make sure you buy what you want, even if it is a little more than you wanted to spend. At least that way you won't be disappointed.

I found mine at a subaru dealership last year around 10k and 44k miles... don't give up!

This year's prices seem to be on the up and up, dunno if people are anticipating getting a "fifth gen"...

yeah exactly, try finding one in MI for that price they want like 20k for one with 60k miles on it. u just need to search harder, its going to be less down here then most places cause there are so many of them, compared to midwest states like mentioned.

i use to live in MI.

I know what your going thru, I almost bought a 2000 T/A 6spd for 18K with 50k miles, but then I wasnt approved for that much. 2 months later I found my white T/A (2000) 6spd with MORE options than that other one for $13k w 26k miles. I did have to fly to St. Louis to get it, but it was Well worth it.

You think that's nuts, we're seeing late 4th gen f-body prices as high as 30K here (Toronto)...

With the CAD over 90 cents american... holy freaking **** that's one hell of a mark up...

Update!!!

I just looked at today's prices on autotrader.ca and some places are asking 40K now... WTF???

I spent 2 years looking and when I got mine back in sept, 30 k was the highest, but we're talking <10k mileage ss/ws6 cars...

Had a couple here (N. IN) in the paper yesterday, 98 and a 99, 60-80k miles, both at $8500. Didn't think that was too bad.

Along those lines, I wouldn't sell my '02 SS for less than $16k-$17k, just because I would need a replacement. I know the complete history of my car, and you can't really put a price on that. It seems like here in the DFW area, there are cars available, but not so many low-mileage clean cars. They are bringing good money.

Yeah, but look at what a LT1 TAs go for in not-great shape, around 18-23k euros here, and good shape ones like my go for 22-25k and more, so anywhere between $23,000 to $32,000 just for a mid 90s LT1.

Exclamation

I have been offered a serious 25,000 $ CASH for mine, and had other people ask if I want to sell....there are only about 3-4 WS6's in a 200 mile area around here...Last time I saw one was about 5 weeks ago..guy in his late 60's,early 70's, and he lives 2 miles away and hardly ever drives it..[ although mine has seen minimal rain,no snow, and very little cloud.]
