Default Estimate my 1/4 mile times!

OK, now that I have your attention. I need your help. I have a 98 Trans am and have decided to get an MTI Lid, and Magnaflow catback exhaust. I want to add gears and a convertor next and hopefully that will be it. I could use some help with some questions seeing how I haven't raced this yet.

1. What MPH should I expect with a stock A4 car with a 2.73 gear (I'm guessing 103ish??)
2. More importantly, what rpm should I expect to go through the traps at?
3. What is the stock weight of these cars?

In case your wondering why those specific questions, I am trying to figure the best mechanical advantage on a stock car for a given horsepower. I should be able to figure out Horespower and approximate convertor/transmission efficiency from those questions based on my current gears. I will then pick out the best gear ratio and stall convertor. Thanks for yor help!

A 273 gear I think you are probably looking at more like a 100mph trap speed.

My car weighed in at 3430 with a little over half a tank of gas.

As for the RPMs, I'm not sure never really paid attention.

Your trap speed should be 103-105.

For comparison sake, I have 273s and mods are in sig. My best trap speed is 109.xx, with 108.xxs being the norm for my car, which isnt bad for my mods.

as for the RPM you will be at the bottom *** end of 3rd gear so about 5000ish as for Trap speed you sould see more like 103-105, i ran at 106 before gears headers and SFC's and my car is a vert so its a little heavier, and i just had basic Cutout and lid and free mods, so you souldnt be that slow remember 2.73s will have higher trap speeds than 3.23s but have slower times.

oh ya and Sex is always a good thing...

There is a sticky at the top you can read about. Also their is an e/t database with mph and 1/4 mile times you can look at in the drag racing section.
