what gears do i have
i was wondering... i got my car a while ago, just never figured out what gears i have, or if there are any mods done to my car.
some of my friends seem to think so but they have never driven or sat in an ls1 other than mine, well i havent either.. so they really have no idea.

Read the stickies man. There's no one magic mod. You need to pick a goal and then figure out what mods you need. There are an infinite number of ways to achieve "quicker accel."

They won't fail you; just take the time to read them. You won't regret it. Just remember modding can be likened to taking drugs; it is damn hard to stop once you start.

also, are there sponsors for the gears or where would i get them from? guess i should do some more research

You probably don't want 4.10 gears in a DD anyway. 3.73's will be just fine. A lot of people with A4 cars think a high stall converter is just as good a mod as gears are. It'll drop your E.T. just as much. Just depends on what your goals are for the car. BTW, on a 2.73 car, the gear selector won't let you shift into first gear.

i was searchin for a while about a stall converter but all i could find was that it was a good first mod, never really got a grasp of what it does or how it helps.
why not get a 4.10 in a DD... my goal is a quick car, real quick. I'm probably not goin to the track at all b/c i'm always real busy. i dont need a 10s car or anything, that and i cant afford a 10s car

i should do that.... thing is though is that i bought the car used at an auction.
no idea who the previous owner was or if anything was modified on the car. a good starting point i guess would be to get that figured out
