Default Saying hi. A couple questions.

Hello, I currently own a 2004 SRT-4(which will be gone soon) and if everything goes right I will be aquiring a 2000 Camaro SS M6 in Silver and black leather interior.

However, I am no complete stranger to the f-body world, or LS1 for that matter. I am an ex-owner of a 93 Formula A4(bolt-ons)R.I.P., 1999 Corvette Coupe M6, and 2002 Firehawk(every SLP option)

The SLP options are as follows: According to the sticker passenger door, Chrome Wheels, Performance Exhaust.
And the WU8 code is on the drivers side.

I am getting it on the cheap side but it needs TLC.

Reverse has to be held in gear, it never stays in. But works when held. Reverse Gear? Or bent fork? All forward 6 gears work great.

I need to fix the SS grill, or would it be easier to just replace it?

I also need to replace the plastic trim in the interior surrounding the winshield, aftermarket tweeters were installed and the brackets are left. I am not a sound guy so that has to go. And the carpeting in the hatch needs to be replaced. And lastly the driver sides window is very loose, and does not roll up all the way, something about brackets?

Other than that just a few scratches and other little nicknacks. And the SLP exhaust looks to have been replaced with some sort of 3in system, closely resembles a magnaflow setup.

Also, the lid has some blue writing on it that I cannot remember, so not sure which lid it is. Don't remember my hawk having anything written on it, so guessing that has been replaced as well.

My main question is for you high mileage guys, the car is approaching 90k, and wondering if it will still be able to do the occasional street run in and maybe a drag run a year or so. The highest mileage LS1 I had was the hawk at 14k, still regret trading that in.

I hope to have pix up in the begining of next week. Just hope the TLC doesnt run me dry. Everything wrong with it was listed.

Also, once in like new condition, what would this fully loaded SS, be worth. I just want to make sure I don't put more into that it is worth. On the other hand I do plan on keeping it, but I have said that alot before.

Thanks in advance.

If it eases your mind i have 142k miles and all my mods are in sig, street run it whenever i get the chance. a 90k SS with a clean title, and good condition mechanically and physically i would say should go for 10-13k...but also that can fluctuate depending on the area you live in in the country.

i would say hes prolly gonna ask around 12,500 for it and thats not out of the question at all...some will ask 14,500 if its in good shape. In this case, seems like it has a few problems so don't go a penny more than 11 IMO and try to get it down to 10. Good luck!

Just curious how you ended up with an SRT-4, especially after owning a 'Vette and a Firehawk. Welcome to the site.

Well, best way to desribe it is by my previous owned car list- I started like any teen making zilch, then I landed a great job. Then lost it. And now back in a decent job again.

1) 1984 El Camino Conquista (1st car)
2) 1993 Firebird Formula (ran mid 13's)RIP
3) 2000 Honda Civic Si
4) 2000 Mustang GT (Auto)
----------Aquired High-paying Job-----------
5) 2000 Ford F-150 Lightning
6) 1999 Corvette Coupe M6
7) 1989 Buick Century (Beater)
8) 1999 Porsche 911 C2
9) 2000 Honda S2000
10) 2001 BMW M3
11) 1990 Ford Bronco II (Beater)
---------Lost high paying job---------
12) 2002 Mustang GT (5 speed)
13) 2002 VW GTi 1.8T (would have ran 13's if i ever got traction)
---------Got a decent job---------
14) 2002 Pontiac Firehawk
15) 1989 Ford Taraus SHO (Beater)
16) 2002 Subaru WRX->Thought I would be happy with the lesser payment, I was untill 0% for 60 came out for the Cobra.
17) 2003 Mustang Cobra(Got screwed out of my Cobra)
18) 1994 Eagle Talon TSi AWD (Beater)
19) 1991 Ford Taraus SHO Plus (Beater)<--was mint and had 50k on it
20) 2003 Mustang Mach 1
------Change of priorities----- Put school first
21) 1995 Chevy Blazer LS 4x4 2dr (Beater)
22) 1994 Dodge Stealth R/T TT. (Extra)

26) 1995 Mazda 626 ES V-6 (Beater)
27) 2004 Dodge SRT-4(Silver)
28) 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (sold)
29) 2004 Dodge SRT-4(E-Blue)
30) 2000 Chevy Camaro SS (Awaiting pickup)

Here are a select few, not gunna put pix of all of them, if you want to see a pic of one just let me know. I will post it.
Trying to find the hawk pix, I wished I never bought a mavica, the floppy idea sounds great, untill you have 200 floppies with pix on them to look through.

I tried to cut my hours and focus on school but everytime I did I would run across a deal that I could not pass up. Which continued the never ending cycle. This took place from 2000-Current. With one semester left for my Degree, I figured I'd buy the SS, fix it up and be faster than the SRT was even with bolt-ons and due it with out high octane.

If I could do it over, I would have kept the civic, it would be paid off. And have all the cash I blew sitting in the bank. It was fun as hell doing though.

How indeed,

I was on comission based sales, which I was quite good at.
The company then decided it was in its best interest to terminate comission based sales, and go with hourly associates instead. Anyone making over a certain hourly avg was let go. I was above that cut-off by quite alot.

So I had to dump M3 fast, I lost my *** on that m3. Bought it for 56k every option. Traded it in 1 year later for 44k. Ouch . My payment was 996 a mo.
