Nitrous is definitely cheaper horsepower, but the money will be the same to supercharge or to go with a reliable nitrous system tht is dependable. So Nitrous may save a few dollars, but you're still going to spend money, whichever way you go. I say magic stick and open up her butt. Let her fart and hiccup! It sounds sooooo good

What do you plan to do with the car? You can cobble together a decent nitrous sytem for $300 and build an excellent one for $600. Any kind of FI is a LARGE intial investment, but one than can be very satisfying. For what I use my car for, a little 100shot wet is perfect insurance...

if you got the money, boost by far. turbos for one even increase mpg. boost is always there and you don't have to worry about the loser of the race saying you were "cheating using the bottle". it's always a pure win with boost.

FWIW, my car will never see nitrous.

Nitrous is a quick, easy, and cheap power adder. A turbo would be best, but damn a good one is expensive!

A win is a win is a win. People that say nitrous is "cheating" are just sore losers...
Nitrous is just as safe as any other power adder as long as you understand how it works and prepare accordingly. You CANNOT beat the HP/dollar ratio of a nitrous kit, but as many have mentioned, you will need to keep the bottle full.

I agree, you win, you win. and of all people, i am not about nitrous. All throttle, no bottle, but if someone else runs it, it doesn't mean they're cheating. Fair race is a fair race, and any race is a fair race if our willing to stand up to the challenge

It's all about preference and how much money you want to spend. Its been said over and over, but one more time wont hurt. Best bang for buck is the spray.

Maybe not ideal for most people, but it works and its been proven.

If you want to spend more money, look at boost.

I agree with Benjamin, if you set of a nitrous kit right, with the proper equipment (window switch-$100, WOT switch-$15, cold plugs-$15, fuel pump-$200 and even a FPSS-$40), you will still spend a lot less then you would for a s/c or turbo set-up. and with nitrous the power is there at the flick of a switch.

FWIW, my car will never see nitrous.
Why? personally i would rather have the power there when i need it, and not all the time. there are plenty of horror stories about all three(s/c, turbo, n20). no matter which route you go, there could be consequences for all of them if not set up correctly.

saying you were "cheating using the bottle". it's always a pure win with boost.
im glad i havnt raced anybody like this yet, i think if i heard that i would die from laughter and the other persons stupidity.

Yes you would. Hit a 150 shot one time and you'll be buying extra bottles so you always have a full one! I'm cheap too, but nitrous > crack.
