99 Camaro LS1 worth it?
I was just looking for some cars for sale and noticed a blue 1999 Camaro Z28 6-speed. Tell me how much you guys think this car should be worth and if it's a good buy.
The car has 33,500 mile on it. It has LT headers, (not sure what kind) SLP intake, apparently the 1LE model, (whatever that is) he also just changed the master cylinder and has a pro 5.0 shifter. The car was garage kept for a while, which is why the miles are low. He says he changed the oil and used mobil 1. No t-tops, no power windows...Interior is decent, no rips, but not extremly clean. (it looks a little worn) The paint has 1 scratch somewhere on it.
So, how much do you guys think it should be? I'll tell you what it's selling for afer you give me some numbers. This way, you have nothing to compare to.

With that being said, (the car being a stripper) does that mean it could be a 1LE? When i go and take a look at it, where should i check to make sure it's a 1LE? Anything really noticable? Probably in the glove box, or when you first open up the driver side door by the year of the car...
Also, what do you mean by "stripper car"?

stipper car means that is a no options car like the manual windows, manual seats, cloth int, etc.
If it was me, i would pass. i love having an all-options car, if that stuff isnt important to you, then go for it. but i still think you will be overpaying. to let you know, i got my 99 Z with 6spd, black leather, chrome wheels, power everything, and every other feature GM offered for $10,600. the car had 65,000 miles on it, and the only reason i paid that much for it is because he had over $3,000 worth of receipts for a brand new 6-speed with less then a 1,000 on it, straight from the dealership.

That's a pretty good deal on your car, but when did you buy it? This car has half the miles, but no options. Although, it is a 1LE which makes it more valuable...A car that only has 33,500 must have been garaged kept. That's 4,000 miles a year.
Does anyone know how much weight a 1LE saves? Is it worth not having the options?

Word. Yeah I was asking him about it. I don't want it anymore, but if you want it go for it. It's in real nice shape from what I see, and the guy seems reasonable enough.
I only don't want it 'cause I found another one I like, in Daytona, and I figure you probably found that car first, lol...

I don't know, what do you guys think. The car has nitrous hooked up to it, but he says he has never used it...The car has FLP headers on it that are rusting. (They have been on the car since around 2000)
The car also has a cut-out and is very loud. It shifts really good and feels healthy, but the fact that the car has nitrous hooked up to it makes me think it was beaten on. He told me he took it to the track a few times a long time ago.
He isn't lieing about the car sitting though. There are spider webs on his muffler, lol. It's a dynomax muffler, but what gets me is that it started smoking out the muffler. After the car was on for a while, white smoke came out of the muffler. But, when he opened the cut-out no smoke came out. Smoke was still coming out a little from the muffler. I think something might have been burning in there, but it weirded me out.
I looked on the door and it didn't say 1LE anywhere. He said he ordered it as a 1LE and his friend new how to interpret the code on the side. I took a picture of the information on the side of the door. If anyone knows how to research it, let me know.
Thanks.

Plug the codes on the door into the rpo database in my sig. It will list all the options the car came with (if the sticker/door havent been replaced due to wreckage etc, just match the vin on the sticker)

He said he ran low 13's when it was stock. After the LT's he was in the 12's on street tires. His best 60' he managed was a 1.9. He also said the 1LE is about 500lbs lighter than the normal Camaro's...Is this true? If so, his times make sense.

Man, I wish I could have found a 10000-12000 LS1 Camaro when I bought Mine last Aug. 10-12K meant 60+ Thousand Miles. My z28 costed me 13200 with 39000 Miles on it and It was the cheapest I found. They wanted 14K for it too.
