Default Quick rev limiter question.

What method does GM use to limit RPM on a factory LS1 engine? Does it pull fuel, spark or a combination?

Thanks!

Same here. Not 100% sure on the spark but I know it cuts fuel...and I think that's all it does....

not if it cuts enough off just to stop pulling. if your rev limiter is 6700 rpms and it only supplies enough fuel to reach 6700 rpm's, bouncing off the rev limiter will hold you at 6700 rpm's. it just won't let you have enough fuel to let you go higher.

don't quote me on that, that's just common sense telling me what to post.

thats pretty much what i was thinking cause they were saying that it was cutting the fuel off which to me means letting your foot off the gas or having the computer doing that when it gets to that point, cause i know when ive hit it, it was bouncing off the rev limiter tell i let off, but if its just cutting enough fuel to stay at that point, that makes more sense to me cause of it staying up in rpm then slowing down. thanks for clearing that up.
