Question 510hp from GMPP?

I read in the Sept. 2004 , Chevy High Performance magazine that with a LS1 Hotcam, LS6 intake, and a set of GMPP CNC ported LS6 heads, a LS1 would put out 510 ponies. Can anyone verify this. The cam just sounds too small to me but, mabe not. The article is called Crate Expectations.

Yeah right, maybe at the flywheel during a wet dream.

I think you're talking about the LS7.

What possessed you to put this in the external section? lol

510rwhp is inflated for even the crankcase figures. The LS7 puts out over 500hp, but the LS2 doesn't put out 470.

I'm pretty sure I saw a recent CHP that dyno'd an LS2 crate motor w/1 7/8" longtubes and electric wp and got ~440 crank hp.......anyone else see that?

I don't think ~500 flywheel hp is too far off for a hotcam/ls6 heads motor w/ls6 intake and every single bolton. Several cam-only/all bolt-on hotcam cars have put out 385-390rwhp through an M6. Given a 17% drivetrain loss you'd only need about 425rwhp to acheive 500fwhp. I'd think a nice set of ls6 heads are easily worth 30-35rwhp.
