MY first F-Body
It's already a done deal. The paperwork will be ready Tuesday. IT's a 2001 Red SS with black leather and t-tops, chrome wheels, auto, SLP lid, Headers but I'm not sure the brand, exhaust I'm not sure the brand on that either but it's loud as **** and sounds like a BEAST!!!!! I've checked the car over, every inch of it and it's 100% immaculate: showroom condition. It felt like I was in a dream when I found it. It has 82,000 miles and I'm paying $10,000 for it. Is that a good deal or what? I drove it and am absolutely in love with it. what do you guys think it'll run with those mods, oh and y'all don't understand how loud this exhaust is. When I nailed it on the highway it sounded like a portal to hell opened up or some ****, loud but a good sound, no popping or crackling just V8 rumble. Any advice? Thanks!

I don't think it's loudmouth, there's a huge muffler under there. It's like a big square, the closest looking thing I can find on here is called Mac exhaust.

But it should definitely run 13's atleast huh? The fastest car around here is a supercharged 2002 rustang GT, his best run was like a 13.9... I want to beat that bastard. Should I be able to with this?

I have the VIN #. I don't know how to tell, is there a certain production number it has to be? Even if it wasn't I wouldn't care. It had everything on it to make it appear to be an SS, but it's in retail condition and retail on an '01 Z28 with all the options besides the SS package is $15,000. The SS package adding another $1,400 to the value. **** it got the wheels, hood, spoiler, and badges, I'd say all that stuff would make a Z28 worth $1,400 more anyway.

Call SLP and ask for SS verification. They will ask for the last eight digits of the VIN. They will tell you if its real or not.
Also, look at the door tag and if it says WU8....then its a real SS.
Even if the car wasn't an SS, its still a really good deal...really good deal.

It IS a REAL SS!!!! I called SLP and gave them the last 8 of the VIN and they asked if it was red, I said yes and then they told me it is #4987. I have it in my driveway now, I couldn't have asked for a better car.
