Default having trouble with my VATS i think. (HELP!!!)

im pretty sure im having a vats problem. my ignition switch and cylinder is brand new but the car has started since ive put it in. when i turn the ignition on but car off, the check engine light, battery voltage and milage is not shown at all. when i turn the ignition on the engine light flashes once and then thats it then the security light is on for about 5-10 secs. also when i first turn the ignition on the car sparks quickly without actually turning the car over. car does turn over just does not fire. previously when i was actually able to start the car it would run for ten mins and then shut off and not start back up. i really really need help with this, i just bought this car and ive only driven it once. any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Jesse

did you get a new key with the new cylinder? Maybe the key has the wrong resistor in it. I once bought a key from the dealer and they gave me the wrong resistor..I though my car was screwed up. Maybe talk to the past owner? Also..i believe a tuner could delete the vats for you...or someone with hp tuners.
