Any GM service/parts department can provide an RPO code list with just a VIN.
Not sure if that's how BLKWS6 got it though

yea, i know that, i just don't wanna go all the way to a GM dealership to get it the reason why i ask is because if whatever website he got that off of gives that info, i'd be curious as to what other info it gives. i see a lotta cars that say #343 out of 1034, for example, and i'd love to know how many of my model/color was made and what number it was.

I think the closest thing you can do is say its one of x-amount of 1000's built in a certain year as there is no information freely available to look up what car had which options and how many, i.e. how many NBM T/A's with an A4 and no TCS. You can get in contact with PHS and they would be able to get you some very detailed info on your car, but not the number 345 of 5930 like that.
ASC gave me my build number and conversion date for my WS6.

However, many parts on your engine are date coded. Heads, radiator, even some A/C system parts. Depending on how weathered your engine bay is, you may or may not be able to read some of those dates. My 03/98 build month car has engine parts dated from 2/26/98 all the way to 3/18/98.
