The LS1 can last a very long time if it has been properly maintained and cared for. The type of mileage is more important than actual mileage. Highway miles are much easier on a car than city. Try to find a stock car if you can b/c chances are that it wasn't driven quite as hard as a modded one.

A couple weeks ago somebody was looking into getting an ls1 with something like 300,000 miles on it. But who knows if that was actual mileage or what. Basically like almost any other car, just take care of it and it'll take care of you.

I paid 15K w/ 40,000 miles, bone stock. Now its paid for and it has 138,xxx and still running strong, I've only had to replace the clutch b/c of a bad night at the track. I used my Z for a DD for around 4 years, now I have a truck to help on the bad weather days.
But you must show them love, nothing but the best, M1 and RP to lube everything up.

The price of ls1 was weird seem much cheaper on ls1 tech then around here. You don't see an ls1 fo 6-9k at all hardly ever.
It's usually 12-16k
And then you see a guy who got one 2 years ago for 6700 wiht 97k thats a good deal two years later around here.
You wouldn't price would be so up and down.

That's why I shopped on the internet and scored one with <20k on it for 8k. Ebay. And these deals are not rare; a guy on this board scored a TA with 83k on it about a month ago for 5k.

Take a look at this site, Auto Trader and get some ideas, thats where I got my TA. But hey if you are planning on mods, and take good care of it, at the end you are going to end up rebuilding a good engine so the mileage will not be accurate. You know, it will be like new all the time
