New owner and I have an oil Problem I jus bought my 01 ss about two months ago. Only 42k on it well maintained. Lately I've been notcing that the car has been goin through oil quick. I checked all the motor bay the filter and underneath and nothin showed up. So I can't figure out why my motor is basically suckin up oil quick because the other day I had to add another two quarts.

Some LS1s tend to eat oil, sometimes a quart every 3000 miles. What kind of oil are you using, and do you know what the previous own was running? Do you drive it hard alot, race/track time? If it's REALLY going through oil, it's either a bad leak you haven't found or it's burning it up fast. Everyone raves about german Castrol syntec, 0w30, so if you don't have a major problem, I'd say switch to that.

Well I've only been using wut the cap says and owners manual says. Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Haven't had a problem with the oil itself personally just the car eating it up quick.
