Default shocks and suspensions suck can you relate?

hi im a newbie and a new owner of a 98 trans am with 48,900 miles on her. she's completely stock. is it me or do the shocks or suspension on them suck? like i'll drive smooth on smooth roads and when i get on bumpy roads i can feel the bumps pretty bad and loud. not as bad as my 95 grand am though but compared to my mom's 98 lumina hers is real smooth. feels like luxury. i dont know, i mean i just expected these $30,000.00 cars to feel smooth. is it just my car or is it really how these cars are made?

Hard suspension is good for performance, if you want a smooth ride... go buy a Toyota.

i was just making sure there is then nothing wrong with mine and if hard suspension w/ a bumpy ride equals performance THEN I"M ULTRA HAPPY!

Yeah, think of it this way. Think of an old big cadillac (not the newer CTS) and that big pimp boat would be ultra smooth, like you are floating. Now drive that same caddy hard around some corners, it will sway like a ****. Now picture that F body in those same scenarios.

hmm... makes total sense! it would like tip over or get out of control! gotcha! where in if it had a sports car suspension like on ours it would stay stabilized

I bought a kit from RK sport with adjustable air shocks which work pretty cool. you can adjust the stiffness. I contacted the manufacturer of the kit because I had some questions and he sent me a new digital system, where I can adjust each corner independantly and save 10 presets. Can't wait to finish my project and try it out.

You think these cars are bad(or good..as I like to call it)...get in a new evo... my friend jsut purchased one..its a brutal ride. stiff suspension with racing seats(stock) that don't recline. They designed that car for little men and girls. i'm 6'2" and 250lbs...it was comical me sitting in it. although..the seats were really realyl coimfortable and kept you in place perfectly. I jsut wish the seat reclined slightly...bumpy ride though..i liked it.
