Default ls6 intake

i am fixing to buy the ls6 intake manifold...here is my problem summit racing has it for $470 and the dealership has it for $800...its a no brainer when it comes to the price but whats the difference when it comes down to buying it from summit as oppossed to the dealership...also i am looking some pace setter headers...ceramic coated long tubes with a 3 inch collector does $430 sound like a reasonable price to pay for them

No idea on the price difference between the intakes. Are you sure the dealer price is correct at $800? I thought they were way less than that. You can get a much better deal from some of the sponsors, like Fred Beans.

$430 sounds like a pretty smoking good deal on Pacesetters too. Again, check the sponsor forum and see what sort of deals they are offering. If you don't need them right away, see if someone will run a special or a GP (group purchase) on either item.

If I were you I'd look at getting one direct from SLP. I got the non-egr version for $400 from them back in Dec 05. You also could pick up a used one for about 300-350. I recently picked up a FAST intake so I will likely be selling my ls6 intake very soon too. DON'T go and pay $800 at the dealer.

$430 sounds a little pricey for pacesetters. I thought you could get them for $375-$380. Check the sponsors.

pace setters can be had for 375 all day long, and the ls6 can be gotten for 300-350 all day long as well in the for sale section

300-350 is about a good used price for an LS6 Intake, although not really all day long since they sell like crazy. I ended up paying $400 for mine from SLP, the reason? It came with all the gaskets and sensors you need, so once you figure that in the price of a used one your within $20 bucks of buying one new. Your price for LT's is expensive tho.

price from dealer sounds about right, for example my 10 spoke rims from SLP are 175 a piece but from dealership . . . there almost 700 a piece!!!!! so don't ever think the dealership is gonna be a good price when it comes to factory parts!!! SLP charges almost 500 for the LS6 so try and find it somewhere else or check the for sale ads and good luck on your purchase! oh yeah i picked up a set of SLP LT's with a Headman X pipe w/ resonators and turn downs for $200!! good luck finding that deal

look in the forsale section as much as possible. Ls6 intakes are $300-$350 but they sell fast so you gotta be ready.

How do you identify a LS6 from a LS1 intake?

My car was purchased modded, an no idea whats on it, but it is a '02 Camaro LS1.

An LS6 intake is flat on the bottom and does not have provision for EGR on the front by the throttle body.

I may be wrong, but I thought '01-'02 LS1s came with the LS6 intake from the factory.

they do, good reason why you never see a 01-02 f-body owner wanting an LS6 manifold to replace the stock. 2000 was the last year for the LS1 manifold 1 damn year!!!!!!

ebay FTW when it comes to this stuff. I have seen a few sell for around $250 because the people selling it list the manifold as an 01 or 02 LS1 intake... AKA LS6 intake.
