Well most people will tell you that you will get better power from running Royal Purple, but you have to run all Royal Purple products such as the tranny oil to get the benefits of it, not just the RP motor oil. But you will pay for it, cuz it's more expensive than Mobil1. I run Mobil1 in my car, and I make really good power for a stock car. It's kinda your preference. If you switch to all RP you will prob gain a few HP

I really don't think you're gong to gain any power whatsoever from an oil change.

You won't from just an oil change, but if you switch all of your fluids to Royal Purple you will gain some HP. Its been done, and I talked to a GM technician who said it worked.

There are different 0W-30's. You're talking about German Castrol, but Mobil1 also makes it and a couple other brands here in America.

+1 for the German Castrol....do a search on it, plenty of info here and I'm far from the only person who will tell you it's the best oil money can buy for our cars. It's truly the fountain of youth for the LS1.

RP would be the better choice, but it is expensive. Horse Power TV or someone did a test with RP differential fluid and traanny fluid and claimed to gain 8 HP, although 5 of that could have been from simply a different pull, maybe 3 from clearing out the gunk of an old rear and tranny, its definately debatable. But as far as engine oil, I use Mobil 1 5w30, alot of people run 0w30 GC, however the shop down here (which has built a 9 sec 3800lbs TA with a 4L60E, a 10.16 @ 142 FRC with street tires, a 10.32 HOSS with a mild H/C combo and spray, all full weight and many others, and also are ASE Master Techs) did mention that they have torn down tons of motors with Mobil 1 and even the ones with 100k+ look new inside. Judge for yourself, I'm not saying RP is worse, its not, but Mobil 1 isn't crap either.
