Default Free Mods -- Do they work?

Hey, I just visited www.installuniversity.com. They have some suggestions about free mods. I was wondering if anyone out there had done those mods and how much they helped. Also, how hard were they? I am looking for more power whever I can find it.

I'd leave them all alone, save for the !TB coolant.

But, others will say different.

Remember, a free mod isnt free when you then have to buy an auto tap/scanmaster and perhaps a MAF-T
and on and on...:_)

Cut the area under the filter! I dyno 310 rwhp stock and got 318 rwhp by cutting the area under the filter, MTI led, and k&n. I would not do anything else.

The ported MAF mod definitely works, but it works better on 98s than it does on the other years.

ported MAF ends gave me a good 1 1/2 tenths, but it also gave me pinging in 2nd gear, which the MAFT cured on 6% richer. So draw your own conclusions, best et with just lid and flowmaster on sportsman pros : 13.27 at 104.5. see sig for best et on GSC's

Do the FRA. I did, and with K&N, there is a difference, specially in the colder weather.

I dynoed my car first time at Kenny Browns with just the Borla. 300.1 HP / 310.3 TQ

2nd time Camaros at Carlisle with Lid, K&N, and and FRA. 317.2 HP / 327.7 TQ - Absoulute Pressure 29.53, Humid 73.5 Intake temp 82.2

3rd dyno was Camaros at Carlisle and I had ported MAF (with screen ?)TB bypass, TB Pump stop, And underdrive pully 330.6 HP / 340.3 TQ - AbP 29.36 Humid 74.5, Intake temp 87.1 I also ran it hard when driving there, I was told that would help... I think it did....??

I know they all were a year apart but I put the conditions to show they were very similar for each, actually a little worse for the 3rd, but not much.... I believe in the free mods.... I don't have much money for paid ones. I don't know about anyone else, but after letting in more air, we could hear it 'drawing' the air in. Now if I could just get it down the track without problems....
