Start with a pully swap to get more boost. Had a stock 99 gtp with only 16K on the clock, but got rid of it because of the torque steer, body roll, and bad gas mileage
Not ******* the car, it's a good value, low insurance, and a family sedan, but not my cup of heineken. Try a search, try gpclub, partsforyourcar.com, or google grand prix. Lots of members on this board own one as a dd or used to mod one.

With the right mods and enough money they are very impressive just
like many other cars. I have a daily driver that makes about 380-400
fwhp on the juice. I plan on dyno tuning next month to get ready for
the Grand Prix shootout in San Antonio in February. These cars make
very good sleepers and run very well if built right and tuned properly.

Body roll, as I have always used the term, means the roll the car makes when cornering.
IE: The higher the inside side of the car lifts on a turn, the worse the body roll. Conversely, a stiff car that stays very flat under hard cornering has good bodyroll.

Brother has one. ZZP cold air intake, home ported TB, 3.4 pulley, 3in DP and home made 2.5 in exhaust and this thing reallly runs. Never raced it at a track but it's taken down more than its share on imports and some mustangs.

try this site out
http://www.grandprix.net/cgi-bin/ult...sPrune=0&r=nfx
and also this site is a speed shop for them kinda odd that you can get alot of parts for the GTs and GTPs
www.zzperformance.com
Mine gets me through the winter/bad weather without a problem. Soon to get into modding when the camaro is back out on the road.

Hey guys...I just signed up (after lurking and reading for a while) and thought I could shed some light here. I drive an 04 GTP compG. It is a decent car minus the fact that some idiot hooked the power up to the wrong wheels!
Silvrshark, I don't know what year your bro bought but the 04+ cars are a bit more fussy than the prev gen. The advice and info in this thread is all good. The only suggestion I have is to skip grandprix.net and go to gp-owners.com.

Don't start with a pulley swap, intake, exhaust, cooler plugs, thermostat, then a pulley swap should net about 40-50whp for under 1k bucks and get you a high 13 sec sedan.

A guy I work with bought a 2000 Regal GS w/ 300k mi for $300 dollars and has put an header back exhaust, pulley and a tune and managed a 14.0 @ 101. He is home porting a stock set of heads and throttle body. We work @ a buick dealer so he was able to get the parts for next to nothing. He daily drives the car too and it looks bone stock. It sucks thinking that his car could possibly hang w/ mine!!

I had a '04 Grand Prix GT2 (non-supercharged) and I loved the tune I got from a basic PCM tune.
I dind't have a shift kit at the time and was cursing the slow shifts when at the track.
I asked for firmer shifts, lower fan setting and remove the damn 40mph WOT. (gm has the throttle gov'n to 3/4 untill it hits 40mph. then it opens fully)
With just the pcm, I shed 4 tenths off my time. From 16.5s to 16.16s and gained 2mph without burning more fuel
