Why does a 06 GTO weigh more than a 06 CTS-V? The GTO is 37xx lbs and the CTS-V is 35xx lbs

i find it hard to believe that the cts-v is only 35xx pounds... im going to double check that

is this true?! WTF! i know weight had to be added for GTOs to meet US safety stds. but thats just crazy. i thought CTSVs weighed closed to two tons.

The 3509 is for the v-6 version check the website i posted. The weight they are showing you is the lowest weight cts they make, the V is 3850

^ maybe cadillac is just using the numbers from their base model accross the board. i find it hard to believe the cts-v, with more options, bigger engine etc weighs the same as the base model

No they are doing their job trying to sale the car, they really didn't lie the cts does weigh 3509 but they just didn't tell you what the cts-v weighed. Just a way to get you to the dealership to buy one. see even had you fooled. I always use MSNautos to figure out everything about a cars specifications and they are usually right on the money.
