Default Purchasing a hood

This is really a silly question, but Im looking to purchase a ram air hood from VFN Fiberglass. My question is do I have to be home when the hood is delivered to my house? I dont have to sign for anything, do I? Im never home during the day thats why Im wondering. . .

not if you live in an apartment, just have the leasing office sign for it. if you live in a house, you might not have a problem, and they might just leave it on the porch. Hope you don't live in a shady neighborhood.

Most hoods have to be shipped Truck Frieght. They can either set up a time for delivery or ship it to a business address (which would be cheaper) and pick it up at the business. You could also pick it up at the local Fed Ex terminal if you wanted to. There are many options other than leaving it on your front porch. Even take the day off your job if possible. I've done it before so I'm home to receive something expensive that I didn't want sitting out.

Most shippers require a signature for anything over $100. Usually if no one is at home they will try to get a neighbor to accept it and sign for it but if they can't they won't just leave it.

Im just going to Chicago to pick mine up. It was $150 to get it shipped to my house so I said F that and just decided to make the drive. Its only a 3 hr drive, and you cant beat the company gas card.

It's considerably cheaper to get something large like that shipped to a place of business. Why don't you get it shipped to the place that will be prepping/painting it?
