Question 2000 camaro?

i need to asee if you guys think this is a good deal. alright the price is 9000 for a 200 ss camaro. now its not leather interiors but it is t tops with 76000 miles it has z06 wheels and a cat back exhaust i dont know who from but he said it was a custom built exhaust it was all mandrel bent tubing as well. body is in good condition and so is the interior. there are only 2 small rock chips on the car i would say the exhaust was a 3 inch. its also a 6 speed. clutch felt good on it too. the guy inherited the car from his grandpa and has every single recept from any maintenance done on the car. this is an arizona car so there is no rust as well what do you think?

Sounds like a good deal to me...I paid almost 4k more for mine and it had almost 20k more miles than that. I wasn't aware that there were SS's made with cloth seats though??? All i've ever seen were leather.

Great deal.. I would make sure there is no structure damage though. That awfully cheap for an SS especially a 6 spd. That's actually under kelley blue book trade-in value.

i payed 7000 for a 99 z28 60k miles and a salvage title, just make sure it was repaired right and by people that new what they were doing also no frame/structural damage, for 8000 and an SS it sounds like a decent deal, also you may have a problem with your insurance covering a salvage title, or a bank financing you, I am very satisfied with my purchase and ran into none of these problems

EDIT: A lot of people advise against buying a salvage title, so don't just take my advice, the previous owner had the maintenance and repair bills/receipts, it was done by a respected auto body place and i felt confident in the repair, the car was also well maintained never seen a winter, oil changed every 2500 miles and babied, i don't plan on reselling the vehicle i could see how trying to resell the vehicle at some point with the salvaged title would be difficult

Yo, I love my cloth seats in my SS. Leather is nice and cushy but I don't want to scorch my butt in the summer!

hell yeah i wanted cloth leather lloks better but living in arizona the seats are even hotter. so i put money down on the car today just waiting for the loan to get finalized. the guy told me he was going to take it to a detail shop for me for free and give me the stock suspension and some racing seats. i think im doing pretty good on this. so ended up telling the kis something i shouldnt have he was going to college and needed the money to pay for that so i said screw and told the kid to make it 8500$ instead of 8000. thats like half my exhaust right there. and i found out its a magna flow cat back with the hurst shifter

Typically a salvage title is not worth the headaches it brings. They are more difficult to insure, and get loans for, and you never know if it was repaired right, or just a half-assed job. Just beware you are buying something that is considered in the industry to be "lower than selling quality" for a reason, if you can verify the repairs and have it checked out, and if you can insure it and get a loan for it, more power to you.

Looks like a good deal, run a car fax, and also call the dealer with the VIN and get a "warranty check" and find out what kind of warranty issues the car has dealt with.

Other wise I would go for it and swap the cloth interior out for some black leather interior.

basically all the carfax said was that it hadbeena salvage title. what happened was the back right corner was hit and it was in 2002 sothe damage must have been significant but from the looks of it it wasnt anything over 5000$ dollars worth of damage but to make it a salvage car it would have had to be a lot more damage then that. im thinking the guy had a friend appraise the work for more and got a hell of a lot of money for it. cause it ooks like he was trying to doa 35th anniversary clone. it has the ss hood which i would have bought anyways and the z06 wheels along with the rear spoiler and of course the badging but come to find out its not a real ss i called slp this morning and they told me that. should i tell the kid i want like 500 back since it was sold to me under false pretences. the kid has some racing seats or leather seats i cant remember he said he would throw in for free.
