Free Mods???
Hey guys, I am pretty new to this forum and I have been reading through some of this stuff and at the bottom of the thread people put their mods,,,,well sometimes people put free mods down, what are some free mods? the only ones I can think of would be porting and polishing the TB and bypassing that coolant line around the TB... are there more? haha these are the mods that i can afford!!!
Thanks

dont forgot to cut the hole out from under the air box to allow air to come up from the air dam infront of the radiator. Prolly the most important free mod IMO. And dont forget to remove the bump stop so the throttle blade opens up as it should. Try doing a search as im sure this has come up before

I just took my knife tip and pryed up on the edge of the screen, once it starts to come loose just run the knife around the edge of it, I think they used some type of adhesive to bond it, but its like elmers school glue, not to hard to break free. It should come right out. You shouldnt be able to hurt anything, just watch those sensors, I cant stress it enough, break them and you'll turn the free mod into an expensive one. Be sure you remove the MAF assembly from the car when you do it, to ensure no debris gets into the engine.

the easiest way I found to get it out was just take a screwdriver and carefully guide it through the sensors on the MAF and just poke it out. I have driven 60K miles with no screen and no problems have presented themself yet.

how big of hole are talkin about cutting? also on my TB the blade opens to a perfect 90* angle from when its shut...is that how its supposed to be or should it keep opening and start to go downward?

I forgot about that, good call Justin. Yes, definitly do the mod on the air box tray, I did it right before I deployed and felt a difference in the car. Not hard if you've got a dremel or some type of rotary tool. The bump stop is good but be very careful with this one, do your homework before you try it.

You want the blade to be perfectly horizontal, typically from the factory it angles 4 or 5 degrees down when WOT, if it is already perfectly flat then dont mess with it.
