01-02 got truck cam and ls6 intake to keep pwoer elvels the same. using he truck cam let gm get away with having no EGR. the ls6 intake has a flat bottom to it and is great for minor-moderaltly moded cars

was this the 5.3 cam i thought the numbers looked the same.i wonder how much gain a 00 back cam would make.might be a good sleeper mod for 01 02 cars

but that wouldnt change his hp or tq numbers, unless he was one of those "unicorn" fbody's with the ls6 heads fromt eh factory, (would be a 243 on your heads)

i call them unicorn fbodys cuz i'm not really sure they exist, just a mythical "bird" in the fbody world

edit... also a good sleeper cam is the z06 but if ur gonna go thru that much work chagning a cam, why stop at a factory cam??

Tell me about it... You might as well go with something a little more aggresive and make some more power. As for my car I am considering a LS6 intake or maybe the 90/90 combo, but mine is a Cam with boltons car sooo... I dunno

my heads are the 241s. would 243 heads and ls6 cam make an ls6? any comments on TSP magic stick 4?

ive only had this ls1 for 2 months with plans of keeping it stock and going as far as i can with my lt1 but there seems to be more possibilities with the ls1. are they any easier to work on when it comes to head and cam swaps?

no not quite, i belive the ls6 motors have higher compression due to the internals.

honestly if your going to do heads and cam, why stop with the z06 stuff... the heads are good, and you can pick up a good ported set for under a grand in the for sale section, then get a decent cam, you'll be much happier with results.

as far as the MS4, i wouldn't know, i don't run it, but the reviews i've seen from people that do seem to say its a great cam, esp with a decent set of heads. check out the dyno sectino on the board and look for some ms4 results, they speak for themselves.

both have alot of petontial, but being that this is ls1tech i think there is more information available here on modding the ls1, or maybe its just cuz thats all that is relavant to me. you could always search for the infamous ls1 Vs. lt1 threads... its just like anything else, the ls1 owners will back up the ls1, the lt1's back up the lt1's, for the most part anyways... and that can easily take over your thread ...

not sure on working on either, as i have never worked on a lt1, nor gone farther than bolt ons so far with my car

most people say the 90/90 combo is overkill with just a cam only setup, unless its a fairly large cam, i'm sure the z06 intake woudl suffice for now, might be better off buying a nice set of heads for the same cost

LS6 Block does not add hp.

01-02 Fbodys came with LS6 intakes and 241 style heads.

If your Fbody has 243 heads and you know the motor is completely stock than your one of the few.

Use a search. There are too many of these threads.
