I've got a 10.5 street car without a cage and the chassis isn't twisted at all. Just make sure you've got a good set of subframe connectors!

Of course, I no longer have a fbody...but my Cobra fits the bill. Zero safety
equipment here, which isn't good, and no subrame connectors.

I've got a 9 second street car without a cage (saving for one) and the chassis is good. The car always goes straight. I think having subframe connectors and a Wolfe anti-roll bar helps a lot!

I thought you have to have a cage to run 11.5 or better. Or am I just being stupid and thinking about a roll bar?

You get one pass and then you get the boot at most tracks.

Well, anytime anyone says, "yeah my car runs XX.XX secs" I ask for a slip. If they say I haven't been to the track, then I tell em, "it doesn't run 11's then now does it." I don't believe it till I see a lip.

Would there be any way to get away without subframe connectors or is that just not a smart move to make? The car is pretty well stock and would like some opinions on well just about everything from suspension to bolton's and cams and that good stuff to.

youll have so much money in it by the time you have a ten second street car, why not something cheap like sfc's. subframconnectors are one of the first mods lots of people do.

Subframe connectors need to be one of your first mods.

Hope you dont ever run across me. Went 10.79@130 and I would always tell people it was a 12.0 car. Of course I didnt have a slip. Alot of ricers got their allowance taken from them

Yeha, but my point is you have run your car at the track. I'm talking about ricers who never run at the track, but say their car runs 10's. Like a guy one of my friends knows say he has a 10 sec. DSM that is putting out 600 hp, but no sheet and no slip to back it up. So I called BS.

Yup, those were almost the exact word's out of my mouth. When I was telling my friend who owned one (he now has a high 11 EVO, with the slip to prove it), he cleared it up for me, it's not that the car runs an 10 sec. 1/4, its that it runs FOR 10 sec. before breaking.

Just any weld in will do. Im partial to BMR boxed. They seem to go well with the frame consistency. DD's just add additional weight.

If you are seriously tryng to make a consistent 10.xxx second pass, then it would be wise.

Can that be done pretty cheap or is it kind of expensive to have someone weld up some SFC's?
