Rattle, sounds like a bent valve...ideas?
Hey guys,
Im realitivly new here, but i have learned tons of info from you guys ... i have a dilema... last night, while driving home (cruising ) not speeding or revving high at all.... the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on and starts blinking....so i am like WTF.. i turn down the "Rise Against" to try and hear anything weird...or different.. Low and behold i hear a slight ticking...( tick, tick, tick)...so luckly i am about a block or so home and i just let it coast home. Now this morning i get up and hoping that i had some horrible dream last night, i get in and start the car. Yeup still ticking, so i am almost positive that i bent a valve(s) becuase this happened to another car i had ( LS/Vtec integra..blah blah blah) anyways, its weird becuase usually to bend valves you need to over rev....right? but last night i did no such thing, i didnt even get on it hard at all.... so i am wondering ... is it valves bent? or could it be something else? also oil level is normal... so not low..
backround
99 Camaro SS M6 86,xxx miles..
Any ideas, opinions would be great..
Thanks,
Jesse

ok, code is P0304 - Cylinder #4 misfire.
Replace Coil-pack = same problem
Replace Plug Wire = same problem
Replace Spark Plug=same problem
So the car is at my mechanics waiting for daylight to pull the valve cover off...and see what we are working with. Not Fun....
