Too much oil pressure? Hi, Is too much oil pressure bad? whats the normal pressure at stock when it's cold and when it's hot with a stock oil pump? And same as for when you have a ported& shimmed oil pump. Mine sits at close to 50 when it's fully warmed up with mobil 10-40 oil with thuinderracing ported& shimmed oil pump and when i rev it it hits about 70 or high 60 i'm assuming,but not accurate.

I used to make just a tad over 40psi with a ported ARE pump and a 800rpm idle speed in my '00 car. Stock pump made about 35ish at stock idle speed.

Hey thanks everybody. I thought too much oil pressure might damage internal seals and so forth from what i heard from other members,but don't know if it might be true or not.
