Any Lid is a good lid. They all give you basically the same amount of power. Get the cheaper one, which would be the SLP. The other filter you talk about is a breather filter.

I like Whisper better. They have a rubber gasket/seal between the lid neck and the MAF, unlike SLP. And I prefer the shiny look.

I've had 2 Whisper Lids on 3 different LS1 cars over the last 8 years. They've always fit perfect and held up great.

You talking about the breather filter that plugs into the air hose?

I went with Whisper because it was in stock at the time. All of them are the same; can't go wrong either way.

If you do away with the AIR system you won't have to worry about the breather.

It's for the AIR pump. Just plugs into the AIR line where you disconnect it from the stock lid. No big deal at all, takes 2 seconds.

I have SLP and am happy with it. Not to bad casting, I've heard of some other filters that can crack easier but a lid is a lid for the most part.

My slp lid rubs my hood and sometimes it will come unpinned on the passengers side. But i still think its a good lid.

Lid=Lid.

MTI were the ones who actually invented the LS1 Air Lid.

Its all a matter of people's different opinions.

MTI, SLP, TSP have been known to be some of the best/popular lids on the LS1 market.
