The other night i was running my 1998 T/A and my friend noticed that my car shot a flame from the exhaust. Here are the list of mods if this will help with my question. Hooker Cat Back, EGR Removed, ZEX Wet kit 125 Shot, 373 Gear, **** Kit, K@N Race air filter, transmission cooler. Note i have not sprayed my car YET!!. Thanks for you help in this matter.

I think that means there is an exhaust leak. Fresh air mixes with the hot exhaust gases and you get (i know it is the mad smilie but it was the only one on fire)

Either that, or your car is running WAY to rich.

you shoot flames when your shifting? mine does the same thing, little blue flames. i think its because you go from full throttle to no throttle for a split second and unburnt feul from the power stroke escapes on the exhaust stroke and starts a mild fire (blue flame) and shoots out the exhaust.

I think your **** kit might be causing the flames.. I've heard bad things about them, haha.

He said he had a **** kit not a SHIFT kit. They're joking with him.

Possible a bad fuel solenoid on your wet kit? leaking excess fuel into your engine? just a thought.

I know he said he never sprayed. That dosn't mean the solenoid still can't go bad.

Oh i see what your saying. But even if the noid was leaking a little its going to puddle in the intake, and backfire VERY bad, and probably blow some **** up.

Every now and then I backfire but I thought it was cuz I have a LoudMouth exhaust. For some reason I got it in my head that that had something to do with it but anyways.,....not too long back I took off the TB to clean it and the intake looked like it was nice and wet w/ fuel. Wouldn't say that it looked like a "puddle" but it was pretty,.....damp.

Kind of curious if THATS why I'm backfiring now based on what you guys are say'n!
