Default Which exhaust system should I go with for my LS1 between these two?

I am considering Magnaflow or a Random Technologies cat back system for my LS1.

For those who have had experience with either of them what is your opinion? I have had a Magnaflow on an LT1 before, and I liked it. Random technology seems to have a similar setup with similar looking tips that I like. Which should I get? Will both give me the same HP gain?

Magnaflow is stainless steel (it won't rust), and Random Tech's is made from aluminized steel. Anyone know if aluminized steel is also rust proof?

The Random Technology cat back is cheeper, which is a plus.

aluminimized steel is fairly rust resistant, same as stock exhuast. But stainless is prettier and should last longer, but you need to be thinking 10 years +.

Most will vote for the Magnaflow because it's the more well known brand. This doesn't mean it's better though.

Be daring go for the Random Technology

BTW - they'll both make about the same HP.

I have heard the Random Tech Cat-Back, its sounds good but not as good as the MagnaFlow. I like the MF because it isn't too loud but sounds real nice when you nail it. I couldn't he happier with my MF for $375 shipped. Sweet

Cutout, electronic if you want to tame it when your getting home at 3AM, it will flow better that any catback, the only thing to beat its flow is tru-duals. Add some long tubes and some magnaflow cats (or take them off) and you will sound like a beast.

I have a Magnaflow on my car. I love the way it sounds, and it seems to smooth out and tone done at the higher rpms. It also gets me plenty of looks and compliments. The rest of my exhaust is still stock. Also, I like the tips it comes with.

I have heard/seen both systems. They actually sound very similar, both volume and tone/pitch wise. The R/T muffler is very much like the Magnaflow muffler, they are both straight-thru designs that offer excellent flow.

Can't go wrong with either.
