ok sorry....I would say im not totally sure but there are alot of provisions in the pcm that once certain things are triggered it will ahve to be reset by the dealer....at least thats what happened with my buddies vette....something went hay wire and the car thought it had been "stolen" so it like shut something down and was un driveable until he had it towed to the dealer and they reset something.

Sounds like the car isn't recognizing the resistance in the key pelet. First thing I'd try is cleaning it/trying a spare key. If the security light still keeps coming on search the site for VATS bypass, or have it fixed, or turned off with tuning.

Yeah sometimes the chip in the key messes up and the computer thinks its being stolen and shuts off.

That happened to me once. I just left everything alone for 5 minutes, came back and it started.

How about the wire that comes out of the Alternator? That is the turn on signal from the pcm. Wiggle it. It gets strained alot. Sounds like a strained wire problem.

Anyone who does tuning on PCM's should be able to take the anti thef feature. That's what us hot rod guys have to do to run the GEN III's. The hell with it.

That happens to me every once in a while and I talked to a dealership about it and they said something about it being the ignition switch. When it happens just take the key out and let it sit for 5 minutes and the light will go off and it will start

I had my security light come on and had to have the ignition switch and key replaced.
