Default good price for 98-02 trans am t-top?

I'm looking to buy a 98-02 m6 ls1 trans am, with no more than 85k miles. What would be a good price? Assuming it is in good condition, I checked on edmunds, and kbb but there is a difference of about $4000 between the 2.

so far I've looked on auto trader but haven't really found anything decent, many dealers are asking $15,000-$18000 for 2000 and 2001 models and they have about between 68k-80k miles, and individual sellers are overpricing their 2002 models at $17,000+ here's an autotrader link of my search
Auto trader listing 100 mile distance

I really want to get one, and I've been looking for them for about 3 months now,
seems like they are getting rarer at least around my area (northern California)

Seems a bit high. I bought my 99 SS with 31k on it in 2001 for $18,000. Based off that I would say that depreciation would put it near 9k today. Don't pay more than 12k for something over 70k miles.

I would keep looking. Your probably going to find a better deal out of state. I found mine out of state and was $4k cheeper than anything locally. The price of a plan ticket isn't even close to what you can save. You could even go to a dealer that you can trust or someone you know that works in the dealership and tell them what your looking for. There's a dealer ONLY website that lists cars throughout the country. I have my dealership check and they found me one in WI and even went and picked it up for me. So there are still better deals out there just keep looking.

only bad thing about out of state, is that you can't really go and test everything out and just walk away, without feeling too bad, since you already spent the money on the trip, you'd feel like you'd might as well buy it.

those prices for the 02 models seems about right, many people automatically list the car above $18,000 with slightly high miles just because it was the last year made, it's not an ultra rare collector's car
