Question SLP or MTI

I am getting a new lid soon. What do you guys think would be better? MTI Transperent or the SLP. The MTI says i need the breather... Do I really need it?

Which would you get MTI or SLP?

Yes you will need a breather filter with the MTI lid. I like the looks of the MIT clear lid, but I have seen a few people on the fourm complain about the lid not fitting correctly. The SLP lid is a great looking lid also plus you don't need a breather filter. Because there is a neck off the lid that the breather hose connects to so you are getting filtered air through the lid. Also I have not heard of any type of fitting issues with there lid. As far as performace they are all about the same. So good luck and keep up the modding.

just pick the one that is cheaper/looks better (whichever your going for). I personally have the slp and think its great. As far as the breather for the MTI lid, if you still have your AIR system in place then yes you need the breather as the lid dosn't have the provisions for the air tube.

Don't know if its worth it...but the ls1 External engine section has a nice writeup on one of the stickies about the smooth bellow...it even tells you how to make your own if you want.

I have the SLP. It clearly made a difference in seat-of the-pants feel and at the track. MTI makes a good one, too. As for the smooth bellows, I wouldn't waste your time and money. I had. Pain in the *** to get on right (this is before they designed it with an angle in it). Still, not worth much.

a lid is a lid. Get whichever one you like better. And as for the smooth bellow, if you can get one cheap, go for it, they look better then the stock accordian style bellow, but performance wise, they arn't worth $.02, you might see a 1whp gain.
