Default My alarm goes off randomly!!!

For some reason, every time I lock my car, no matter what setting I have the notification on, the car honks twice. If I turn the lights and horn off through the alarm settings, it still honks 2x when I hit lock on the door or the keypad. Also, the car will randomly start honking the horn every few hours. Is there anyway to disable the alarm? Also, the car will honk 2x every few hours as well. Any ideas? I might take it to the dealer.

Shock sensor may be going bad, open up the rear passenger panel and unplug the little black box. Or try adjusting it.

Another vote for the shock sensor - or try turning the sensitivity down.

I'm on my 3rd shock sensor. Open it up and look for corrosion on the chip. That's how the last two of mine died. If this one goes I'm just taking it out.

When I replaced mine. I put Saran Wrap over the top of it, taping it at the top and bottom with duct tape. This is to keep water off of it so it won't corrode the circuit board. I noticed the majority of the corrosion was at the bottom end of the circuit board, where you would expect water to run down to.

My theory was that any water in the hatch gasket area can run down there if you happen to open the hatch when it is present. Hopefully the plastic wrap will protect it.

dam, I had no idea that you could adjust the stock alarm on these. I have seen the little black box in the back just never took a good look at it. learn something new every day on this site.

Default Thank!

Thanks for your help. I actually disabled the system for now. I keep the car in the garage at night and can see it from my office during the day, so I'm not too worried about it. The biggest thing that drives me crazy is the 2 horn blasts when the system arms!!
