I'm sure other people will have their own opinions, but I have a Suncoast Creations hood and airbox on my TA and I'm quite happy with it (besides what the retarded previous owner did). They also make one for the Camaro

http://www.lmperformance.com/873/1.html

I just listed that site because I've bought from them before, and have always been happy with the service

yea mines metallic bright blue
awesome color but from what the body shops told me its one of the worst colors to blend
also said i'd have to adjust front bumber and fenders to fit hood
since hood is made for my car wont it be a direct replacement???????/

Mine was installed when I bought the car, so I can't really help you there. Sorry. I'm sure if you go to the Suncoast Creations website, they should have more information. The air box consists of the box and I think the filter and bellows. Not sure. It (sic) seals against the hole in the hood, creating the ram air effect. They should be a direct bolt-on. My only problem is the previous owner had a serious crap paint job (missed spots with the clear coat, paint drips, etc), and the paint on the hood is bubbling and chiping. Good luck with your decision though!

the SS hood is not functional, have you ever looked at one? It will move SOME air, but its not doing anything other than looking good. The LT1 hoods were better, but the filter was on top of the motor.

I dunno, my buddy's got an 01 SS and on the inside of his hood the air is routed from the scoop back to the front and it comes out of slits directly infront of lid

The SS hood is functional... Just because the air has to make 2 u-turns after entering it doesnt mean anything... The air is still being forced through, and although the hood doesn't 'directly' seal to the air box, neither does a WS6 hood. The WS6's just dont require the air to make a few u-turns.

The Suncoast hoods generally require ALOT of work to make them line up/fit properly. They're made right here in FL, not too far of a drive for 99HorseSlayer.

If you get a hood from SLP, I'd imagine it'd be the best fit you could get for fit/finish. From what Ive been told, SLP did the SS hoods for GM. I know they did the Firehawks.

Whether or not SLP did the original hoods, your best bet is gonna be OEM stuff for fit and finish.

ANYTHING aftermarket is gonna take some time and effort to get installed properly.

Well if you go to ramairhood.com you can get a functional hood and painted to match your color code for $1329 plus shipping and tax. Suncoast doesn't give that option and I plan on getting my hood from them.
