Will 275/40/17 tires work on 17x11?
I am gonna get the zr1 black wheels from tom z the sponsor, and he has two packages...1 with 4 17x9, and 1 with 2 17x9 and 2 17x11
I will be using the tires I have on my stock wheels now...nitto nt555r 275/40/17 on the zr1. I wan to get the 17x11 but afraid they wont fit properly or they will leave rim popping out and looking ugly or if there are safety issues(like disinflating)
Tomz said they would be fine. I want to make sure before I buy them.
Also I have locks and lugs on my stock wheels right now, those should work for the zr1 right? THANKS I appreciate the help!

Yes they will, it might be streched a little
Its a comon trend in the import world so put on a wide rims with smaller width tires.
The gain in doing this is, to have the car ride extremly low with out the tires rubbing and still have a deep wide lips etc..

ok...so the car will look lower?
And by stretching...do you mean..its not safe or MIGHT not work? I need a for sure definite answer, because once I buy them I dont want no problems when i take them to a tire shop and tell them to put them on, and then they tell me they cant or something..

Well yes I know the 315s will work perfectly. And seeing how 2quik4u had 275 on a 10.5 and no an 11...and they looked small...well I really dont think the nitto(really narrow) will fit on the 11 inch rim...
so final decisions? Yes or no? Im keeping the 275's for a while...
Wanted to get the 17x11 seeing how they are only 10 bucks more and if i ever decide to sell them the 17x11 will sell faster ...they are more sought after...

Nitto tire sheet
Nitto site says it will fit, but i personally wouldn't do it. That's just asking for trouble IMHO.

just man up and get some 315's, just get the good package with the 17x11's and get 315's whenever you can, you won't regret waiting a bit.
... depending on your stock rims your lugs and locks MOST LIKELY won't work, you usually get new ones with your wheel package anyway.
