I bought one for my truck, same one as the LT1 pack, didn't notice a difference really, but do have slightly higher secondary spark from the same amount of supplied voltage, so it works a bit better in tandem with 6A box.

I have them. They are priced competivly with an OE coil pack..The MSRP price that is..You can get an OE coil for a lot less if you know where to look.
MSD's have some nice features. They interface with a stand alone if you were to go carb..They look cool ,too.
Did they do anything? I have no idea.
The stock coil on plug is really good.

I'd have to agree, they do look good......as for adding power, I am very doubtful. IMO the money you would spend on the MSD coils could be much better spent on other mods.

I was reading GMHTP and they had a thing on the MSDs. They do not add power. What they do is provide more spark mulitple times. So on a stock motor you wouldn't see any difference. On a Stroker or FI motor it would help the added fuel burn.

i agree it makes perfect sence more spark dosnt do anythig without more fuel and air to burn!! unless the stock ignition isnt burnig all the fuel given to it already, but the LS1 ignition dose not have that problem on a stock motor.

What about for Nitrous applications? Does anyone think there would be some benifit to using them then?

yes with a nitrous app you are adding more fuel and air thus more to burn. the LS1 is notorious for responding awsome to nitrous anyways. i would think that the MSD coils would offer more benifit to a nitrous car then a N/A stock engine. but i think with just a small shot of nitrous the stock ignition system could still get the job done just fine. now if you are talking large nitrous app then yes i think it would be a good idea to upgrade the idnition along with a huge list of other things. but they wont hurt anything only help. the only question is do they help enough to be worth $600? dosnt seem like they do to me on any type of stock or clsoe to stock app. just my oppinion tho. i wonder if anyone that has them have shown any power increase on a dyno?

I was thinking that they would be helpful. I have a NOS Direct port which I have been waiting to install I think I will invest in these coil packs before I do that though.
