Default what do you veterans think of this exhaust?

I'm planning the first mods to my 02 Z (besides the SLP lid and K&N) Let me know what you think....

new Magnaflow catback ($390) for starters....then over the winter, I will be adding either Pacesetter or Hooker Comp. coated longtubes with a custom made catted Y pipe and cutout(stupid Illinois laws)

Will I regret this?

Sounds like a plan....I love my Magnaflow/Longtubes set up, sounds real sexy when you get on it and not too load if you keep your rpms down, that’s part of the reason I went with it. I was running a Loudmouth before I switched to the Magnaflow and it was ungodly loud and annoying. Also, if your going to run cats that'll take out a lot of the rasp associated with ORY’s and make it sound a little better.

Sounds like a good setup to me. I just installed pretty much the same setup on my friends 02SS. He went with Pacesetter LT's and ORY with the Magnaflow catback. It sounds really good but has a little bit of rasp. If you go with cats like your planning on the rasp shoud be eliminated.

Sounds similar to what I plan on going with, except I will be doing Kooks. It should be a good setup for you.

Sounds to me like you are not familar with IL EPA inspections.

No need for cats to pass here. For '96+ cars, there is no visual and no sniffer. Only an OBD scan test. You can pass an ORY with tuning or O2 sims.

I got the magnaflow catback on my car and to be completely honest with you i couldnt be any happier. I also installed a cut-out, so that way the idle tone would be a little higher with it open. But at WOT, you really cant beat the sound......

ya you picked chose a great combo. especially for where you live. The SS magnaflow will perform for a very long time.
