Default Extended Warranty-- will free ram air mod void it?(sorta long)

I have a 6 year/60,000 mile extended warranty that I bought with my used, '98Z.
Car has 28,880 miles. Only mods were done by the previous owner... flowmaster exhaust and I think he tinkered with the computer cuz the car may have originally come with non-z rated tires..the door jamb sticker says 235? and the car came with 245's so I figure he put 'em on later. The owner sold it to dealership Pflueger Acura and I bought the car w/ extended warr. If I do this mod...will there be consequences? Thanks !!

I dought it. It will depend on the dealer. The only way they will know is if they look other wise they will not know. I did it to mine and have a FRTA on my car and have had it at the dealer a few times. As long as the mod does not contribute to the failure to another part thats under warrenty then they "may not," but it all depends on the dealer ultimately. Hope that helps

MT....talk to the Chevy place where you're gonna take the car (not J&N I hope!). Ask them about making changes. When I bring my Bird to Jackson Pontiac (and it has lots of mods), the mechanics all gather around and talk with me. Unfortunately, the mechanics have very little say when it comes to warranty repairs/claims. You will need to see the service manager.

I bought an extended warranty with my car. I assume you are already "out of the window" for GM factory coverage, so the dealer shouldn't hassle you as much, unless it's a GM extended program. The only time I take my car in is for something I don't want to deal with that costs enough to take it in (for example, headlight motor, broken mirror, etc). They have never hassled me at Jackson yet.

Thanks for the advice-- yes, the GM warranty I think has expired. And yes, I'm also scared to death of taking my Z to any GM dealer for repairs. It's a last resort. I'll probably wait until the warranty runs out and then do the mod...it sounds iffy as to whether dealers will still honor my warranty. Anyway, by that time I'll be wanting more power from the LS1 anyway!
BTW, what was your experience at JN? Hear anything bad?

thanx again

Never been to JN myself, but lots of local folks I know say steer clear of them for service. I'd go to Cutter or another dealer if you need service. And of course BSM down in Kalihi for HP! (2022 Republicn Street near two Story McD's).

I bought my SS at JN. They have been nothing but good to me.

Ill let you know again on monday when I get minor crap fixed on my car if they give me a problem or not. Clutch return spring, blown speaker. Better not give me a problem.
